Natural Acne Cure and Treatment

Natural Acne Remedies

There are various natural acne remedies that can treat the condition quite effectively.

These methods being completely natural have absolutely no side effects and are not only safe but also inexpensive. Acne may vary in severity from individual to individual, from mild, to moderate or severe acne.

Treating Mild Acne

Mild acne can be treated at home with some simple remedies:
•    Gently wash the affected areas with warm water twice a day.

Avoid using harsh soaps and instead opt for mild or herbal soaps. Doing this will help to remove excess oil and dead skin cells.
•    Use a topical application and other over-the-counter creams or ointments for acne treatment that contain salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide.

Severe acne generally requires a lot more intensive and aggressive treatment and you would need to consult a dermatologist. Prescription medications and physical methods include:

•    Drainage and surgical excision
•    Interlesional corticosteroid injection
•    Isotretinoin
•    Oral antibiotics
•    Oral contraceptives

Natural Acne Cure

In addition to conventional treatments and home remedies the best natural acne cure is an acne diet. There is a clear connection between dietary patterns and acne outbreaks. A healthy diet is beneficial irrespective of your skin condition as it will improve your overall health, skin included. A healthy diet would be low on the processed foods, with more whole grains, like whole wheat bread, brown rice, oatmeal, wheat pastas, etc. and a large amount of fresh fruit, vegetables, and lean protein. Sodas, processed sugary snacks, and junk foods are best restricted.

Saturated fats and trans fats are known to contribute to oily skin and foods rich in them can increase the risk of developing acne. Most animal products have a high amount of saturated fats. These would include meat products, dairy products, and poultry products. It’s important to be aware that all fats are not bad and your body requires other essential fatty acids that can be got from fish, flaxseed or hempseed oil. According to some researchers a diet that is extremely high in calories can lead to an increase in hormone levels, which would be responsible for increased subsequent outbreaks of acne.

Some researchers believe that chocolates and some other sweets may also be triggers of acne outbreaks because of their high amount of saturated fats, but this is still debated. Either way eating in moderation is always the best option and is necessary for any natural acne remedy to be successful.
