They could also be powders, both pressed and loose; dispersions; and anhydrous creams or sticks.

Down the years the ingredients of skin care products have changed drastically. The realization of the dangers of many common ingredients also greatly influenced the skin care product industry. To protect the public ingredients used in cosmetics are now highly regulated and often tested on animals. A lot of skin care products are also aged to protect against UV radiation in some ingredients. The aging process also makes the products more applicable.
