Clear Skin Care Treatment Most people are concerned about how to have clear skin — pimples, dark patches, dry skin, scales, and other blemishes are all common problems that plague most of us at some time or the other.
Usually however, these are relatively minor problems, and it only takes a few weeks of diligently following a skin care regimen to get clear skin again.
Tips for Clear Skin The most common and persistent problem that people face in their quest to get clear skin is acne. During the teen years, acne is sometimes impossible to get rid off, and the best that can be done is to minimize the number of pimples and the amount of scarring. Later on however, once hormone levels stop fluctuating, pimples are usually the result of other factors that can be controlled.
Hygiene is an important part of any clear skin treatment, and can greatly reduce pimples. You should wash your face several times a day with plain water, and once or twice using a mild soap. Bacteria are one factor in the development of pimples, and regular washing can reduce the number of bacteria on the skin. You should also try a commercially available cleanser, and if you find that it is effective, use it regularly. It is usually advisable to avoid a cleanser that contains alcohol, as it tends to dry the skin. This could result in the obvious problem of dry skin, or your skin could start producing an excess of oil in compensation, causing the opposite problem. In addition to following these clear skin tips, you should start using an exfoliant to get rid of dead skin cells, which often cause pimples by blocking pores. You can choose one of the many commercially available exfoliants or prepare a home made one using oatmeal and milk. A good moisturizer is an essential part of all clear skin treatments. Here again, you should find one that suits your skin. Thicker creams are needed for chronic dry skin, as they trap and provide more moisture to the skin. You should always apply moisturizer immediately after bathing, when your skin is damp, so that this moisture is retained. A clear skin care regimen should also involve the use of sunscreen, particularly if you spend a lot of time outdoors during the day. The best sun protection however is to minimize exposure to begin with, either by avoiding sunlight or by covering your skin adequately. Many skin blemishes are the result of excessive exposure to sunlight and can be avoided if you exercise caution. Finally, you should following a healthy, balanced diet, and a daily exercise regimen as these are also essential clear skin treatments. |
