Reduce Hyperpigmentation, Pigmentation Creams and Hyper Pigmentation Treatment, Melasma Hyperpigmentation

My complexion is wheatish and I am having a severe pigmentation problem on my hands and back.

I just want to know that what is the permanent cure of this problem so that I can get my original skin tone?

Hyper pigmentation is a very common and relatively harmless disorder. It causes certain areas of the skin to become darker than the surrounding skin. The darkening is the result of melanin being produced in an excess.

This melanin is a pigment that is brown in color and is responsible for our skin’s color. Also known as age or liver spots, often the most common culprit for over pigmentation is the damage caused by the sun. Hyper pigmentation is of different types and generally melasma or chloasma spots are larger in size and occur due to hormonal changes in the body. Hyper pigmentation however as mentioned earlier is due to the UV rays effect on the melanin levels in the skin. The melanin tends to go in to overdrive when exposed to the sun in order to protect the lower layers of the skin. Therefore, the easiest remedy you can use to curb hyper pigmentation is using a good quality sunscreen with a high sun protection factor that protects you from both UV- A and UV- B radiations.

There are some prescription pigmentation creams that are available at all drug stores. These creams target the level of melanin production and inhibit their productions levels to a certain extent. This helps balance out the contrast between the normal skin and the patches. There are also prescription bleach creams that use hydroquinone to treat the pigmentation. It is important though that you consult your doctor or dermatologist before trying out any of these medications as treatment varies from skin type to skin type. These cures however allow no permanent solution and require long term use in order to yield results. However they are quite effective and less dangerous compared to the next form of treatment to be discussed.

A permanent solution that you can try in order to cure the hyper pigmentation is the use of laser treatment. There are a number of them and they are quite efficient at removing pigment without excessive scarring. The procedure is relatively painless and does not take long. The recovery period however takes about two weeks and is a little painful as the skin heals. The laser treatment method depends on the skin type you have as it changes the way your skin reacts to sun exposure. Laser treatment can be carried out with the help of your dermatologist who will guide you through what kind of treatment you will need and whether your skin will react positively to the treatment.
