Sun-Damaged Skin Care


We have to face the fact: every time we head outside our house we are subjected to the hazards of the world.

This sun damages actually range from minor sunburns to major sunburns to even skin cancer. However, this skin cancer will only happen if there is negligent regard for possible harm by the person. But if you have sunburns or the like, there is a chance for sun damaged skin care.

So how do you know if you’re skin is sun damaged in the first place? There are several superficial features that sun damaged skin yields. First among these is the wrinkled look of the skin due to lack of moisture. There is also a degree of roughness and looseness in a sun damaged skin. There is also a leathery effect on the skin and several dark patches may come out in skin damage by the sun. In this case, the main priority of sun damaged skin care is moisture. This is because the skin has lost much moisture from sun exposure.

Sun damage is actually derived from over exposure from ultraviolet rays which come from the sun. Actually, for total avoidance of damages, one should take careful notice of putting sunscreen of high SPF’s for better sun protection.

But if you already have the damages, you should first consult a dermatologist and let the doctor assess how much damage you have incurred. It is also good to have a professional diagnose you rather than just double-guessing how damaged your skin is. Another thing about sun damaged skin care is letting a professional assess the level of damage your skin has had.

Normal application for sun damaged skin is actually creams that have ample amounts of alpha hydroxyl acids. Some examples of these alpha hydroxyl acids are glycolic acid and lactic acid. These two acids reverse the effects of sun damage to your skin because they have a smoothening effect on skin. It has also been known that Vitamin C can contribute to sun damaged skin care since it also brings a reversing effect to the table.

For those who can afford permanent reversal of the damages dealt by the suns raging UV rays, a person can also opt for laser therapy or skin filling. The cosmetic surgical wonder, Botox has also proved to have its reversing effects on these sun damaged skin. But the best way is to always to keep your methods natural in sun damaged skin care.
