How to Get Fair Skin |
|
| |
|
Fair Skin Irrespective of your skin color, you need to follow a regular skin care regimen to ensure that you skin does not darken over time.
Exposure to direct sunlight causes an overproduction of melanin to protect your skin from the sun which in turn causes your skin to darken. If you find yourself unsure as to how to get fair skin, I would suggest that you use a good sunscreen lotion to protect your skin from tanning. A good sunscreen lotion will have both UVA and UVB filters.
It should also have a high Sun Protection Factor (above 15 SPF).
How to get fair skin? Most fairness creams today contain Hydroquinone. Hydroquinone is considered to be one of the most effective lightening agents as it has the ability to drastically reduce pigmentation. However, it can also cause the skin to lose its elasticity and in rare cases it has been known to cause contact dermatitis. It is therefore advisable that you do not use cosmetic products for fair skin as they almost always have harsh side effects.
There are also various natural home remedies to significantly (and safely) lighten your skin. Mix a few spoons of curd with a little tomato juice and a few drops of almond oil. Apply this mixture to your face and arms and allow it to dry completely before washing it off with warm water. This moisturizing pack will help to reduce the effects of tanning. Tanning also causes blemishes to darken and become prominent. Mix equal quantities of potato and cucumber juice and apply it to your face instead of your regular toner. This natural toner will also help to reduce blemishes.
Treat yourself to a homemade facial at least one a week and steam your face before you apply your face pack to maximize its effects. Mix equal quantities of gram flour and milk powder and add enough honey and lime juice to it to get a thick paste. Spread a thick even layer of this paste over your entire face and let it dry completely before washing it off. This natural face pack will help to nourish, moisturize and lighten your skin.
Tanning for fair skin
Although considered fashionable, fair skin tanning can at times be a problem and undesirable. Overexposure to sunlight is the biggest cause of tanning for fair skin and can easily be avoided. Wearing protective clothing like scarves and shirts or tops with long sleeves helps reduce the effects of tanning. Today there are clothing companies that market ‘sun protective clothing’, specifically meant to provide protection from UV rays. |
