Baby eczema is also known as atopic dermatitis. It is characterized by skin inflammation with non-stop itchiness. For babies, this usually occurs from the age of 2 months up to 2 years old.

It usually occurs on the baby’s forehead, cheeks and even their scalp. It can also spread on other parts of the body.

The most common type of baby eczema is called atopic eczema. This kind of eczema is distinguished by a red spot which is very itchy, reddish and scaly skin that you will see on the face, arms, and legs or on some other parts of the body.  This kind of disease is said to be hereditary. It means, it runs in the blood of the family. There are some factors why babies have this kind of illness.

  • Babies who do not have moisturized skin may have eczema.
  • When the baby is always exposed to some things, clothing and certain types of food.

According to some studies, when the baby stops taking breast milk at a very young age, it is also one of the big factors why babies have eczema. It is said that allergies in different foods take the 30 percent. When you noticed that one of the foods of your baby is the cause of eczema, you can immediately remove it from your baby’s diet or foods. It is also considered a trial and error process. Some examples of foods that are usually eliminated from the baby’s diet are fish, eggs, peanuts and a lot more.  For some babies, they get this kind of disease when they wear clothes that are washed in a certain detergent soap or washed with fabric softeners.
